IFS Therapy in Alhambra and online across CA
Dig deeper, connect to your inner world, and heal from the inside out.
You don’t just want to understand it—you want to heal it.
IFS Therapy can be for anyone, but it might be particularly helpful if you:
Want to get to the root causes of your feelings, thoughts, and tendencies.
Already have some awareness of your trauma, and you’re ready to go deeper into healing it.
Are looking for something beyond traditional talk therapy, and you’re open to a more experiential, inward-focused approach.
Often feel a sense of internal conflict or mixed emotions, and you want to better understand and navigate it.
Are curious about understanding different parts of your personality in a new way.
What is IFS Therapy?
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a therapy approach that helps you better understand yourself by getting to know the different “parts” of you. It’s based on the idea that we each have an inner world—like an “internal family” of “parts.” IFS is often compared to the Pixar movie Inside Out. Similar to Riley, you have a rich internal emotional landscape, made up of different parts that hold different feelings and perspectives.
You likely already think or speak in “parts” in your day-to-day life. For example, you might notice a part of you that:
Gets really anxious before meeting new people
Criticizes yourself after making a mistake
Wants to set a boundary, but is in conflict with another part of you that feels guilty
Feels sad or stuck in the past
These parts of you aren’t bad—they’ve taken on different roles for a reason. Some parts work really hard to protect you, keep you safe, or help you cope. Other parts carry wounds and burdens from the past.
Together, we’ll gently explore and get to know the different parts of you with curiosity and compassion.
You can see me as a guide, walking alongside you as you navigate the journey through your inner landscape. You won’t go through this alone; I’ll be here to support you in connecting with your parts.
As you better understand and appreciate your parts, this allows your core Self—the calm, connected, and wise center of who you are—to take the lead in helping parts of you to heal. Over time, you’ll start to build a sense of trust and safety within yourself, helping you feel more grounded and at ease.
What to expect:
Our early sessions will start with traditional talk therapy. Just like in any other therapy, this helps us build trust, safety, and connection as the foundation before we begin doing parts work. Even as we move into parts work, talking through things will always be part of the process.
01
We’ll start to explore and get to know the different parts of you. Typically, we’ll start by connecting with your protector parts. This part of the process can take some time, and we’ll always go at a pace that feels good for you.
02
As we build trust with your protector parts, we may begin to connect with the parts of you that carry pain or wounds from the past. We’ll support these parts with care, helping them heal and let go of the burdens they’ve been carrying. This is often where emotional healing happens.
03
As the work unfolds, you’ll start to notice real changes, like reacting less to triggers and responding differently to situations that used to overwhelm you. You might start to feel a deeper sense of connection within yourself. You may also notice that you’re able to hear your own voice and inner wisdom more clearly.

Yes! You don’t need to come in knowing your parts or how they work. In fact, most people start IFS unsure of what their parts are or how to identify them. This is a big part of the work we’ll do together. I’ll help you learn how to recognize and connect with your parts.

Yes! As a BIPOC therapist, I deeply value therapy approaches that are effective for BIPOC folks. The IFS model recognizes that parts’ roles develop in response to both personal and cultural experiences, including racism, intergenerational trauma, and systemic oppression.
